What is Nashville B-cycle?
Inexpensive, healthy, simple, convenient, and an absolutely stylin’ way to get around town, Nashville B-cycle has it all for your smarter transportation needs. With options to purchase daily, weekly, monthly or annual memberships, these red bikes can pedal you from Hillsboro Village all the way to Five Points in the most efficient and healthy method for both your body and your environment. Each trip during your membership period is free as long as the bike gets returned to a station within an hour. Anytime your bike is checked out beyond one hour, your credit card will be charged $1.50 per half hour.
Nashville has 33 B-stations, with more to come, dispersed throughout the city for opportune use by residents and visitors alike. Lunch dates, shopping trips, meetings, or a quick ride for fresh air can be accomplished with no emissions, no gas, no traffic, and no hassle. After all, what better alternative fuel than you?
If you are an annual member, Nashville B-cycle tracks your miles traveled, carbon offset and how many calories you have burned – this info is posted in your account profile.
A partner with the Mayor’s Office and the Metro Nashville Health Department, Nashville B-cycle is designed to encourage a healthy and environment-centered mode of transportation. With adjustable seat posts, a basket to stow belongings, automatic lights, three speeds, and gear to keep clothes clean, these bikes are perfect for everyone to use.
Launched in December 2012, Nashville B-cycle is a fee-based bike-share initiative that is operated by the Nashville Downtown Partnership, a nonprofit management organization. Nashville B-cycle tracks mileage and calories burned, as well as the carbon offset of each trip. Using these measures, Nashville B-cycle demonstrates the health and environmental benefits of bike-sharing in the community.
